The Silicon Valley Disc Golf Club is a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation whose purpose is to promote the sport of disc golf by establishing and maintaining disc golf course(s) and acting as a focal point for communication and as a referral network to public, private and community recreational resources.
A course was established in Oct. 1997 at Hellyer County Park in San Jose (southeast of Hellyer Ave. and Highway 101). Future plans call for development in the nearby La Raza Area in San Jose (both presently planned as nine hole courses, when and if approved).
A new course map and upgraded tee signs have been recently added to guide players through this course (tee & holes numbers have all changed).
Monthy tournaments are played on the second Saturday of each month since December 13th, 1997.
For the latest information subscribe to the Google Group’s SVDGC mailing list which is intended for communication to club members and any other interested parties. An events calendar and message archive can also be found there and weekly doubles and monthly tournament results can be posted if there is a demand. Also be sure to check out the PDGA’s Online Disc Golf Course Directory (SVDGC is also listed as there as “Coyote Creek DGC”).
None of this is possible without the contributions of disc golf players like you. All contributions to the club are tax-deductible. To become a contributing member of the Silicon Valley Disc Golf club, please complete a membership application and help make San Jose a true disc golf destination. Thank you for your support of disc golf and the Silicon Valley Disc Golf Club.
